Since 2009, Edible Portland has recognized local food heroes for fostering Portland’s sustainable food culture. This year, Edible Portland will continue the tradition by honoring six outstanding members of the Pacific Northwest food and farming community with Local Hero Awards. We invite you to nominate those who exemplify high standards in their social and environmental practices, food sourcing, regional economic impact, and commitment to promoting a sustainable food system in the following categories: Farm, Restaurant, Food Artisan, Beverage Artisan, Nonprofit, and Retailer.

Hands down, Ned Ludd restaurant. Owner Jason French not only consistently sources our pigs. he pulls on boots and visits the farm to actually see our operation. We even got him to try pig milk on April Fools day. lol. Curious, courteous and committed to local farmers. Briar Rose Creamery (503 537 7016) can vouch.
