On the second Tuesday of each month, a group of folks interested in local food and farming issues meets to discuss relevant topics, tackle big issues, generate new ideas, network, and drink beer.
The topic coming up in May is Local Meat — what are the barriers for Oregon farmers trying to get grassfed and pasture-raised meat to consumers? What options do Oregonians have who want to opt out of the factory farm food system?
Val Blaha from Mossback Farms and Chrissie and Koorosh Zaerpoor from Kookoolan Farms will tell their personal stories of raising meat in Oregon and how they’ve structured their farm businesses to bring local meat to consumers.
Tuesday, May 12
Roots Organic Brewery‘s Event Space (just south of the pub) on SE 7th Avenue
5:30 – networking
6:30 – presentations and Q&A
8:00 – discussion
Local meat producers are invited to attend or send information to michele@friendsoffamilyfarmers.org.
