A startling and sad announcement in 2009 was the closure of Gourmet Magazine, the first U.S. magazine devoted to food and wine. Reichl, who was a long time editor-in-chief of Gourmet as well as a former food critic for the New York Times and Los Angeles Times, will visit Portland as she moves on to new adventures, which we suspect will be as enamoring as her past ones.
