This week-long cooking camp is the perfect way to help kids start developing sustainable eating habits at a young age. By preparing meals on their own, using farm-fresh ingredients, they’ll learn how fun and easy it is to eat seasonally and locally.

Aug. 29 – Wild Foods in Wilderness Survival

Perfect your hunter-gatherer techniques with this hands-on workshop. Learn how to determine if and when wild foods are desirable to use, which plants to seek, and how to identify the poisonous ones.

Aug. 27 – Celebration Oregon! Wine Awards & Tasting

Celebration Oregon! will kick off the Oregon State Fair in grand style with an awards and tasting event featuring 50 Oregon wineries and 15 Oregon restaurants, chefs, and caterers.

Aug. 21 – Appetizers for Improvement

Aug. 15 – Indian Independence Day

East India Co. Grill & Bar will join the Indian Cultural Association to usher in Indian Independence Day at Pioneer Square. For the following week, East India Co. will serve a four-course tasting menu priced at $19.47 (the year of independence) along with colorful dishes in orange, white and green to commemorate the Indian flag, at their restaurant.

Aug. 14 – Zenger Farm’s 2nd Annual Picnic

Zenger Farm is hosting their 2nd Annual Picnic! Guests will tour the farm, enjoy a picnic of Zenger Farm produce prepared by Bon Appetite Chef Joe McGarry, dance to the music of Dos Zapatos, and view a film projected on the side of the Zenger barn!

Aug. 12 – Hot Paris Nights Patio Party @ the Heathman

Cool off at the Heathman Restaurant and Bar’s Patio Party with a splash of bubbly and cognac. Patio Party pairs Moët et Chandon and Hennessy Cognac with a four-course menu of pork cheeks, grilled peach salad, fresh northwest oysters and Hennessy truffles.

Aug. 12 – Deschutes Brewery Street Fare

The Deschutes Brewery Street Fare will fill the street in front of their Portland Pub with live and local indie music music, all of Portland’s most popular food carts, and plenty of craft beer. The Fare benefits Morrison Child and Family Services.
